Eastland Catering has exclusive catering rights in the beautiful and
historic Buckingham House. The Buckingham House can accommodate
events up to 100 (75 sit down). This Historic Treasure of Downtown
Newark, celebrated its 190th birthday in 2004. The Buckingham House has
hosted such famous dignitiaries as President Hayes, General Sheridan, and
General Sherman. It sits in pristine condition, with its original
hardwood floors, Beautiful fire place, and unparalleled elegance. The
Buckingham House room rental fee fluctuates according to time of year, day
of week, and time of day.
Eastland Catering, has the ability to cater any type or size event in
venues outside The Buckingham House. We are very experienced in
catering events as large as 350 outside our facilities, and an execute any
event from a formal plated dinner to a picnic party.
The Buckingham House and Eastland Catering are located at 6 North 6th
Street, Newark, OH 43055. We are only three blocks west of the
"square" in downtown Newark. If you are following State Route 16 East
or West, exit at the 4th street exit, follow 4th street South three traffic
lights to Main Street. Turn right at Main Street, follow for two
blocks, to 6th Street. The Buckingham House sits on the left.
If coming to us on State Route 13, Route 13 is 4th Street in Newark.
Follow 13 (either North or South) to Main Street, turn West on to Main,
follow two blocks and turn right on to 6th street. Again we sit on
the left. Parking is located in front of the building.
Menu selections are due 30 days prior to your event. As outlined
in our contract a "Final Guarantee" (the number of guest you are expecting
to attend) is required 14 days before the event. Eastland Catering
will prepare food & beverage to serve 10% over the "final Guarantee".
This additional food is in case of last minute additions and will not be
charged for unless used. No allowance or adjustments will be made to
the final bill or "Final Guarantee", for any decrease in numbers at the
time of the event.
The Buckingham House does not allow any food or beverage to be brought
in to any event without prior approval. The Eastland Catering
Company is the exclusive caterer and no outside catering companies are
permitted. Wedding cakes or specialty cakes for events are allowed to
be brought in.
Buffet service is a type of food service, it is not an "all you can eat"
option. Plated dinners are available, please ask for pricing and
options.
The Buckingham House room rental fee includes: Use of Room for alloted
time, set up, clean up, and use of tables/chairs. Eastland Catering
food charges include: Food/Beverage, china, glass, and any catering
equipment needed for the event. In some cases we reserve the right to
substitute high quality plastic ware for china, glass, and silver.
Eastland Catering charges an 18% gratuity for all events, as well as
Ohio State Sales Tax.
 Booking The Buckingham House & Eastland Catering
To book The Buckingham House and Eastland Catering, signed contracts and
deposits are required. All quotes and tentative holds on event dates
are valid for only 30 days.
Table decorations are the responsibility of the person booking the
event. Eastland Catering does offer centerpieces that can be rented
for your event, we also work with a local florist that can offer options
for your event.
Final Payment is due at the end of the event. Eastland Catering
accepts Cash and Checks, Credit is not issued unless arranged for in
advance.
The Buckingham House allows an event to decorate the room beginning,
three hours before your event.
The use of entertainment in The Buckingham House is allowed. They
may set up as early as 3 hours before the event and no later than 1/2 hour
before the arrival of the 1st guest, and must remove all equipment at the
end of the event. All entertainment must carry liability insurance,
in case damage or destruction to the building or any of its contents.
Liquor is permitted to be brought in to The Buckingham Meeting House.
Eastland Catering will not serve or be responsible for the liquor in any
way. A set up charge of $50 will be charged for any alcohol brought
in.
